Ambassador of the Republic of Korea paying a visit at the Research Reactor Center, Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology to explore future cooperation between two countries

On 17th January 2023, H.E. Mr. Moon Seoung-Hyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to Thailand paid a visit to Assoc. Prof. Thawatchai Onjun, Executive Director of Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT) to have a discussion on exploring potential cooperation especially in the area of the research reactor. Ambassador Moon and Executive Director mentioned the existing technical cooperation between TINT and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in various areas, including the research reactor and cyclotron and both sides are satisfied with the long relationship between two institutes.

Moreover, Ambassador Moon highlighted, in the policy level, that the ROK will continuously provide technical support to Thailand in the field of nuclear reactor. Also, Ambassador Moon and Executive Director had a discussion on Government-to-Government agreement between Thailand and ROK on peaceful uses of nuclear energy which is now underway. Once signed, this Agreement will be a platform for two countries to build up more collaborations to implement nuclear-related activities.
